She uses a variety of evidence-based therapies, such as Schema Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and uses developmental and relational frameworks in her approach.
Emilie works with a range of presentations, including perinatal depression, anxiety and OCD, adjustment difficulties, trauma, relational concerns, parent support, and perinatal loss, and has co-facilitated an attachment-based mothers’ group. She is a certified Circle of Security Parenting facilitator and regularly uses this intervention which helps her clients to develop more attuned relationships with their children and explore more deeply their own relational experiences. She loves supporting individuals in their journey of reflection in preparation for parenthood and enjoys working with parent-infant relationships to support secure attachment which is invaluable to the development and wellbeing of both parent and baby.
Emilie values a professional and compassionate therapeutic relationship which fosters an environment that feels full of trust and understanding ready for gentle exploration of experiences, needs, strengths, goals, and patterns of being. She is passionate about supporting individuals throughout the many adjustments within the perinatal period, including pre-conception, pregnancy, postpartum and early parenthood. She enjoys walking alongside clients throughout the developmental processes of becoming a parent, helping parents to develop self-compassion and coping skills, and increasing mindfulness in their parenting.
