Ella specialises in mother and infant wellbeing, facilitating joyful and confident parenting during the perinatal period. Through her business, MINDING MUM, she offers a Telehealth service that is dedicated to providing support for parents.
Welcoming a baby into the world is an extremely exciting and special time for any family. However it can also be one of the most challenging. In the past, new parents were supported by the community around them. They were provided with care and guidance as they undertook this new role. In our hectic modern lives, much of this community support has been lost. Ella aims to re-establish this support and to help parents create a world for their child that has coherence, consistency and context. Telehealth allows Ella to support families from the comfort of their own home, allowing parent and child to thrive in a happy and relaxed environment.
Ella uses a combination of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy. As an experienced psychologist, she recognises that every family is unique and so customises consultations by drawing on the best approach for each family. Ella has conducted research on anxiety during pregnancy at The University of Melbourne and The Royal Women’s Hospital. She has also completed additional Advanced Training in Infant Mental at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Ella is passionate about supporting new mothers by improving their psychological wellbeing, general health and relationships. As a mother herself, Ella understands the demands of parenting and the importance of a positive and calm environment for new babies and their parents. Her goal is to help each family create this kind of environment in their own home.
