Dr. Danielle Ciaglia
Clinical Psychologist
B.Sc (Psych).Hons., D.Psych (Clin).
Danielle is a Clinical Psychologist who has over 20 years’ experience working with a range of mental health conditions. In more recent years, Danielle has a developed a particular interest in working with individuals in the perinatal period, from conception, pregnancy, to post birth. Areas of focus include fertility concerns, perinatal grief/loss, support through assisted reproductive technologies, perinatal depression, anxiety, anger/rage, birth trauma, and attachment/bonding concerns as well as co-morbid mental health conditions.
Danielle feels passionate about nurturing and supporting the parent and infant relationship and does so using an attachment lens. She invites infants and non-birthing parents to also be a part of therapy where possible. Danielle is mindful of the upheaval and change that is associated with the perinatal period and hopes to provide a safe and non-judgemental space to support the individuals navigating this developmental change. Danielle aims to facilitate reflective and collaborative conversations to help an individual to understand themselves and their relationships with others more deeply and to find a way forward that feels authentic and effective for them. In doing so, she draws from a range of therapeutic approaches, including Psychodynamic Therapy and attachment theory, Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (including CBT specific for trauma and eating disorders), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which are aimed to align with the needs and goals of the individual. She is also a Registered Circle of Security Parent Educator.
