Amanda is a Clinical Psychologist and board-approved supervisor with a passion for compassion!
Amanda is an experienced perinatal clinician who enjoys supporting parents from pregnancy through the postnatal period and the challenges of early parenting. Amanda recognises there is a vulnerability that comes with navigating becoming a parent, and she is dedicated to providing therapy where her clients feel just as held as their babies. Not one to shy away from tricky topics or big feelings, she has a particular interest in rage and other strong emotions that can come along with parenting. Amanda works from a compassion-focused therapy approach.
As well as helping parents with their own big feelings, Amanda loves helping parents find confidence in supporting their little ones through the tough times they can have. This includes things like infant feeding challenges, sleep difficulties, bonding or attachment issues. With additional training in infant feeding support including breastfeeding challenges and feeding disorders, Amanda is committed to finding practical, flexible and developmentally appropriate solutions for parents to meet their own needs alongside the needs of their baby.
She values authenticity and encourages her clients to bring their true selves into sessions. This means she shows up as her authentic self too – bringing her ‘irreverent’ style (which is code for the fact she sometimes says swear words), sprinkled with humour and fierce compassion, to create a dynamic and engaged space where clients receive professional, evidence-based, compassionate support.
Amanda knows that each family is unique and prioritises creating a welcoming and inclusive practice for all families, and practices from a trauma-informed and neurodiverse-affirming stance.
