Dr Sarah Robuck
Clinical Psychologist
B. Psych (Hons); M. Psych (Clinical)/ Ph.D.
Sarah is a clinical psychologist with a combined Clinical Masters/PhD from the University of New South Wales. Sarah’s work experience is diverse, with experience in both inpatient and outpatient contexts, private practice and in the non-for-profit sector. She has gained experience in the perinatal period working as part of the multidisciplinary team at the Child and Infant Mental Health Unit in Canterbury and for the last five years working at the Gidget Foundation, a non-for-profit organisation dedicated to perinatal mental health support for parents in their journey to becoming parents and in the postnatal period.
It was while Sarah was completing her psychology training that her own personal complex journey into motherhood highlighted the need for support services for young mothers and was the catalyst for her to specialise in the area. She is passionate about all elements related to young families including pre-conception, the fertility journey, loss and trauma, the transition into parenthood, infancy, and early development in children. In the perinatal space, Sarah believes no reason is too small to need extra support.
Her approach is collaborative, warm and solutions focused. She tailors treatment for the individual needs and goals of the client (or family) using a combination of evidenced-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Relationships Therapy, Family Systems Models and Mindfulness.
Sarah is a registered non-directive counselling support Medicare provider and is also a trained facilitatory for Circle of Security parenting program.
