The parenting journey is full of changes, emotions, joys, and challenges. Wherever you are on this path – from thinking about having a baby through to early parenthood and beyond – Lauren provides individual therapy to help you navigate the twists and turns and feel more confident along the way.
She supports individuals experiencing challenges in adjusting to change, managing anxiety or depression, coping with grief or loss, navigating relationship difficulties, or bonding with their baby or child. Lauren works with women, men, single parents, and same-sex families throughout the perinatal period. She has a special interest in supporting expectant parents during pregnancy to prepare emotionally and mentally for early parenthood.
Babies are always welcome in sessions, at Maternal and Infant Wellbeing Melbourne in Parkville. This warm, family-friendly space has pram access, changing areas, and comfortable spots for feeding, with everything set up to make things as easy as possible. Lauren also works closely with other practitioners to help you get the support you need.
With over 15 years of experience in public and private mental health and education settings, Lauren’s approach to therapy is warm, down-to-earth, and non-judgemental. She offers a space where you can reflect, process challenges, identify your strengths and deepen your self-understanding – helping you connect with your values and needs.
Lauren brings a developmental and relational perspective to therapy, utilising frameworks from attachment theory and advanced training in Circle of Security Parenting, to help you untangle your story and make sense of your thoughts, feelings, ways of relating, and experiences. In addition, she draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness, somatic, and creative techniques offering support tailored to your unique needs and goals.
Lauren is also registered to provide Medicare non-directive pregnancy counselling.
In addition to individual therapy, Lauren enjoys facilitating parent education and wellbeing workshops and groups, such as Circle of Security Parenting.
Lauren is a mum of two, who loves reading and spending time in nature.
Telehealth consultations are also available.
