Giving birth during the health pandemic, she became increasingly passionate in supporting and empowering individuals in the perinatal period and in the early stages of parenthood. Davina offers a safe and supportive environment to individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, adjustment challenges, birth trauma and intergenerational trauma.
Davina’s approach is warm and encouraging in the way she connects with parents. She is dedicated to creating a calm, empathetic and collaborative space for her clients where they can feel supported, heard and empowered, to gain personal growth and confidence in navigating their parenting path ahead.
She has a particular interest in the interplay between the mind, brain and body by empowering parents to build a secure attachment with their infant through co-regulation and attunement skills, while also encouraging parental self-care. Therefore, leading to a deeper connection of the parent-infant relationship.
Davina is enthusiastic about holding baby in mind whilst offering support to parents to reflect on their own parenting history, utilising self-compassion, to feel better equipped to support the well-being of their children.
Davina incorporates various approaches into her treatment planning, to meet her client’s needs these include, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Schema Therapy, Compassion-Focussed Therapy (CFT), as well as Trauma-informed Therapies. With specific focus on parent-child interaction, Attachment and Polyvagal theories.
Davina has completed training in perinatal and infant mental health with the Perinatal Training Centre and Gidget Foundation Australia, as well as attending workshops and seminars on trauma and attachment theory.
