Perinatal Psychologist
BA, Master of Health Science (Behavioural Science), AMAPS
Rebecca serves women in their most vulnerable moments and provides a warm, compassionate and safe place to be heard, process experiences and look to the future. Her service is designed to meet the needs of women seeking counselling support around conception, fertility, IVF, pregnancy related stress and pregnancy loss, as well as women with birth trauma, post-natal mood disorders, difficulty adjusting after birth or bonding with their baby and parenting in the early years.
Prior work in Community Mental Health Services for children and adolescents provided the opportunity for Rebecca to become aware of the benefits of a good start in the very early years of life. Now passionate about mothers and infants receiving the support they deserve she applies Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) to support clients therapeutic goals and emotional wellbeing. Therapy with mothers’ and their infants applies a framework informed by attachment and developmental theories and works with the mother infant relationship and babies are definitely welcome along.
Rebecca’s personal experience of parenting children in our current social context has led her to include along with evidence based treatment a holistic approach and a focus on connection, nature, simplicity and mindful moments.
The counselling is confidential and tailored to each client’s individual situation. Rebecca invites enquiries to discuss her service and is available to work face to face or using teleconsulting.
