Kirsten Finn
Clinical Psychologist
BA (Hons), DPsych (Clin).
Kirsten is a clinical psychologist who has established a private practice to focus on supporting mothers. Kirsten enjoys assisting families to overcome any difficulties experienced in their parenting journey. Kirsten is available to see women during their pregnancy, birth and throughout their parenting experience.
Kirsten will sit with you through your experience and help you to process and understand any issues that have caused you distress. Kirsten recognises how vulnerable you may feel in seeking help and in revealing your innermost thoughts so she will meet you with the respect, kindness and support that you deserve for taking this brave step to reach out for help. As a mother herself, Kirsten can relate to your experience and offers a compassionate approach to strengthening your wellbeing.
Kirsten has worked in acute, hospital & community mental health settings since 2001. She also worked for several years at the Mater Mothers Hospital Brisbane providing perinatal mental health support to women during pregnancy and to parents with babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Kirsten is a certified Circle of Security parenting educator and a Medicare Pregnancy Support provider. She utilises a range of therapeutic approaches to individualise treatment to meet your specific needs. Kirsten is experienced in providing psychological therapy for issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, grief & loss, trauma, life transitions, parent-child bonding, relationship difficulties and parenting support. She has a special interest in the use of EMDR as a treatment modality.
